About Michelle

Michelle Westfall, MT-BC (Music Therapist-Board Certified) holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA and received a high school diploma with a music performance concentration from University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem, NC.

Currently Michelle works full time as a music therapist in a special education school. She founded Northern Virginia Music Therapy to provide individual music therapy sessions in the Alexandria, VA area. She has ten years of experience working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings. She has served as a volunteer musician for youth programs, taught preschool music classes, given private percussion lessons, and provided music therapy services to children who have disabilities.

Michelle is a member of the American Music Therapy Association, Virginia Music Therapy Association and a former member of National Music Educators Conference, and the Percussive Arts Society.
